Bea was delighted to meet Christy today and to see Heather too.

The Mayflower & Redwood Shores
We met up with Great Grandma and Grandpa, Aunt Shirley, Cousin Tristan, Uncle Victor, Aunt Fran, Cousin Brian and Sara, Amy and her mother in Milipitas today for dinner at The Mayflower. Afterwards we got a sneak peak of Brian and Sara's new condo they just signed the papers on today in Redwood Shores. With all these new places, sights and sounds Bea got a little fussy but cheered up when she saw the big sunlight in the master bath.

Such a baby
David Sedaris read at Diesel Books down the road tonight and I went to see him. Dan and Bea hung out in the chocolate coffee shop next to the bookstore and met up with me while I waited in line to have a copy of his new book signed.

Apples
After meeting Kerri, Justin and Elise for dinner in downtown Burlingame we went shopping for a surprise new computer for Grandma Lily. Bea was delighted with the Apple Store.

Heat Wave
Desperate for some air conditioning, we drove south to the mall where we found a parking spot in the shade (came in handy because the Macy's at this mall doesn't have a 'mother's room'). The whole family, including Connie, has been sleeping & napping on the living room floor because it's much too hot to be upstairs. At the end of the day we cooled off on Eric and Chris's deck with Logan and one of their toilets.

Cirque du Soleil
Bea and Grandma Lily were staying cool in the entryway to the apartment building this afternoon when I arrived. We went upstairs where Bea sucked on her big toe during a diaper change. Grandma Lily dressed Bea and while we packed up the car she read Bea a book.

Summer in the City
Today Bea went with Grandma Lily to the Castro to meet up with Aunt Shirley. I picked up Bea after work, we drove Grandma Lily to SFCC for her dance classes, and then picked up Dan and headed home. Bea soothed her drooling and her teething gums with a refrigerated teether before heading to bed.

Father's Day
Bea tried to help Dan open his Father's Day gifts this morning. Later on she wore the great outfit Great Grandma Pryor sent her for our Father's Day dinner at A Cote. We thought Bea might nap while we dined but she insisted on sitting on a lap. Dan carried her all the way home while she giggled. When we got home Bea fell asleep during the 3rd quarter of The Finals NBA game, waking up in a jolly mood during the 4th quarter.

Dessert at the End of the Day
I returned to work today and Bea is with Grandma Lily for the summer. They went to BiRite Creamery this afternoon and we all enjoyed Mexican Chocolate Ice Cream with Salted Peanuts for dessert after a nice dinner together.

Hot Monday
Grandma Lily met us on College Avenue and we walked to La Med in the summer heat to have lunch. I thought Bea might nap in her stroller but she insisted on coming out and joining in the fun at the table.

Swaddle Me Forever?
We walked a couple of miles to buy a size large Swaddle Me blanket today, as Bea keeps busting out of the Swaddle Designs flannel blankets we've been using since we brought her home, and unlike the Miracle Blanket, which says it's for ages up to 14 weeks, Swaddle Me goes up to 22 lbs. First time in the new blanket Bea was all smiles.
Grammy Judy and Mike Come to Town
Bea's Grammy Judy and Mike came up Saturday and stayed through Sunday afternoon. We had Zachary's we-make/you-bake pizzas for dinner at home Saturday night and on Sunday had brunch on the patio at Crepevine and then walked from Rockridge Kids to Baby World and home - a long journey during which it was discovered, as Grammy Judy already knew, that Bea is ready (and very willing) to spend time in a saucer.

First Full Day at Grandma Lily's
Bea spent a full day with Grandma Lily, a dress rehearsal for next week when I'm back at work. At the end of the day Dan joined us and Bea did the Cabbage Patch.

New Moms' Group, Grandma Lily's, and Gas Prices
We met at Leslie & Lloyd's for the new mom group today with (L to R) Lloyd, Max, Bea and Meera, enjoyed some crispy pita chips, and exchanged stories. Afterwards, Bea and I met my mom at Safeway on Market and drove to her place. Bea spent the evening at Grandma Lily's (apparently chatting with Grandma instead of napping) while her parents went on a dinner date. On our way home from eating at Range in the Mission, we noticed special messages on the gas pumps at 16th and Guerrero.

4 month checkup
Bea had her 4 month well baby check-up this morning. She's now 15 lbs 2 oz and 25.5" tall, in the 90th percentile for weight and height. She didn't mind being put on the scale but she did mind her shots, though when her dad put her on his shoulder afterwards she smiled right away.

Social Sunday
We took Bea for a walk up the road to catch the view of San Francisco this afternoon. She napped after that and woke up when Adam and Lisa, in town visiting from NYC, and Justin and Leanne came over (turned out they were just up the road during our walk). Bea barfed while sitting in Adam's lap...oops!
