Today we drove to Salinas to visit Great Grandma and Grandpa Gin and Aunt Linda and Uncle Allen. Bea discovered the biggest pumpkin she's seen in her life.

8 month check-up

Bea now weighs 20 lbs. 1 oz and is 28.25" tall. During the appointment, Bea waved at us from the examination table while Dr. Handlesman checked her out.

Breakfast with Carrie and Mary

We met Carrie and little Mary for breakfast this morning at Park Chow in the city and sat at the cozy table by the fireplace. Mary and Bea stared at each other across the table while Carrie and I chatted away. Also featured in this photo, giving it a sort of wood cabin smokey look, is a finger belonging to the waitress who captured this memory for us.

We met Heather today at Temescal Park. Bea was in a serious mood until she realized she could pull out grass and dirt. She ate cheese for the first time and was absolutely delighted to meet a girl named Zap who was there with the Bear party.

Celebrating Halloween a bit early

Bea refused anything resembling a morning nap today, so Dan got her dressed and took her for a stroll to College Avenue. Later (from left to right) Lloyd, Luke, Meera and Max came over and we got a photo on the couch with all the little ones in their Halloween costumes, a lion, a monkey, a twin ladybug, and a pirate. They preferred the living room floor to the couch, play clothes to the costumes, and made this preference well known. After the fun, Bea fell asleep on my lap, pinning me to the armchair in her room where I took a cat nap and she slept for an hour (a minor miracle these days).

Grandma Lily's Birthday Dim Sum

Grandma's birthday isn't until Tuesday, but we celebrated early by taking her to the Hong Kong East Ocean Seafood Restaurant.

Noodle Theory

We went to Noodle Theory for a late lunch today. This was Bea's second restaurant in one day, and her second high chair - so she decided not to sit in it the way it was designed and ended up in Dan's lap.
