We picked up Grandma Lily from the ballroom dance contest at UC Berkeley and went to dinner at Beckett's, the Irish Pub, but Bea didn't want to sit still for any more than 15 minutes, preferring instead to ride the elevator and walk around the pub pointing at people. Her first french fry, however, captured her attention long enough for us to finish our dinner and down our pints before she was enjoying a street performer's keyboard playing on Shattuck in downtown Berkeley.

There was a very short break in the storm weather, and Bea was ready to get out of the house for a stroller ride up to Roanoke just over the Berkeley border.
